Long Distance Yarn // Merino Possum Blend // 8ply

When Michelle and Corrina first began to dream up Long Distance Yarns they knew they wanted to have New Zealand grown and processed fibres. But also explored avenues of sustainability and how to create without adding yet another completely new product to the world. Being familiar with the overwhelming amount of ‘dead stock’ fabrics the textile industry produces, they were eager to find out if the yarn manufacturing industry in New Zealand faced similar challenges and were able to secure a small amount of beautiful surplus mill end yarn.

They are using mill overruns, unused samples or discontinued lines and are creating limited editions in beautiful seasonal colour palettes.

This does however mean that with the nature of this project, once a base is gone we cannot reorder it.
