A Vested Interest

Let's be honest, the last person that needs to be told the weather is changing is a fibre artist. We've started to shelve our summer weight yarns in lieu of warmer and heftier skeins; but when the sun is shining on days like these, a sweater might just feel like a bit too much.

Therein lies the genius of the vest and slipover. It gives us the joy of crafting for cooler weather without the commitment of sleeves. It can be layered, it can be worn on its own, and it can be made in so many different ways.

We put together a handful of vest and slipover ideas below, hopefully you find some inspiration for your crafting 😊

The Classics

Give this classic vest a fluffy texture using a strand of 4ply such as Naturally NZ Merino 4ply or Sesia Mistral held together with one of our laceweight mohair yarns

2. Ash Slipover by Caidree

We have a shop sample in a strand of Rowan Kidsilk Haze held with 2 strands of Felted Tweed. Or you can pair the Kidsilk with just one strand of a plump 8ply like Aspen 8ply.
