Introducing Wild Earth Yarns

We are pleased to be offering a new NZ yarn range in the shop!

We are feeling very inspired by this untreated and squishy “woolly” wool.

Direct from Wild Earth Yarns in Christchurch, it has the perfect feel and earthy colours to sink into a new project this autumn.
We are already dreaming up new projects for the new range and added some of our picks for cozy cable knits, colourful sweaters, beanies and more.

Aspen Polwarth

This beautiful squishy woollen-spun Aspen Polwarth creates colourful and light yet structured knits for the colder days.
For the 8ply yarn we recommend trying this versatile Eva Cardigan design with a casual fit; the stunning Pressed Flower Pullover which is sure to become a statement piece and the classic Community Cozy to curl up with a book.
Check out the adorable Woodsy beanie, stylish Muriwai Shawl on brioche-stitch or the seamless Weekender Sweater for the lighter Aspen 4ply.

Natural Haunui

A soft, smooth, worsted spun yarn produced with no chemicals involved. The all-natural fibres of Natural Haunui comes in 8ply and looks great in the oversized Wata vest, as a teeny-tiny Waterfall Romper or a relaxed-fitting Field Day Cardigan.

Ashley Merino

A luxurious merino range that is super soft, doesn’t itch, and keeps its shape.
We think this lovely yarn in 8ply would make a stunning Poppy Cardi and Hat, a cozy Tent in the Woods beanie in a modified half fisherman’s rib, or an effortless-style Brooklyn Raglan sweater.
For the 4ply Ashley Merino, we recommend playing with colour with this fun Color Craze wrap, treating yourself to a soft and flattering Daily Pullover or getting leafy with this beautiful Lille Dahlia Solo design for a onesie, a dress or a cardigan.

Meet Graham and Jacqui

Graham and Jacqui from Wild Earth Yarns are a pretty big deal in the yarn world as they run one of the few spinning mills in New Zealand producing knitting yarn. They set up business in North Canterbury in 2010, first as a side hustle, and then as the full-time business creating the exquisite fibres we get to enjoy today.

Their processes are also friendly to the environment and produce no emissions to the air, no waste-water and no skips to the landfill!
