Join our Felted Slippers Knit-a-long!

I have recently jumped full force on the Felted Slipper Train - I completed 3 pairs in the space of about one week. I couldn't believe how quick, easy, and satisfying this project is! And the result is a solid, beautiful pair of custom-fit felted wool slippers.

I've spoken with many knitters who are keen to try felting their knitting, but nervous about the felting process and concerned that things could go wrong. So I figured we could tackle this project together, and we will do our best to help everyone along to get the best final results.

So, for anyone who is interested in joining along, we will be hosting a Felted Slippers KAL (Knit-a-long) starting next Monday, the 27th of July and running through Saturday, the 15th of August. This should give us all more than enough time to complete one (or a few) pairs of felted slippers.

To participate, hop over to our Ravelry group and post in this forum here that you'd like to join in. We will chat all about the project and tips/tricks and troubleshooting over there. Feel free to also post your projects on Instagram and tag us so we can see how your slippers are going 😊

Where To Start:

A great place to start if you're keen on this project is to watch the video below that is dedicated to these felted slippers: the pattern used, needle sizes, specific yarn recommendations, and a step-by-step vlog showing the knitting and felting process:

Recommended Yarns:

The yarns you need is a DK-weight/8ply thickness (it will be helpd double), 100% non-superwash wool.

The two specific yarns that we've tried and tested are the Ashford DK and the Woolly 8ply. You'll need either 2-3 skeins of the Ashford or approx. 4-6 balls of the Woolly depending on size.

Note: My 3rd pair were made for my husband who has a US Mens Size 14 / EU size 47 shoe. I used approx. 2.5 skeins of the Ashford DK in total for his pair.

If you're ordering yarns for this project, get them in soon so they can arrive to you in time for the KAL kick-off!
