The Hanmer Mitts are inspired by the beautiful New Zealand bush,
with it’s mix of native and introduced trees and plants. It’s named after Hanmer Forest which personifed this.
Enjoy well-ftting classic fngerless mitts with a section of fun stranded colorwork knitting.

CONSTRUCTION:
Knit from the bottom up in the round in one piece
Sizing:
These mitts come in one size, suitable to fit most adults and older children. If you’d like to make them smaller or larger, I recommend changing needle sizes. Bear in mind yarn quantities may change.
Size: approx. 18cm/7 in in circumference, and 16.5cm/6.5in long
Needles: 4 mm/US Size 6 double-pointed needles (or 80-100 cm circular for magic loop if preferred) Or needle sizes to obtain gauge
Notions:
Tapestry needle (for finishing)
Stitch Markers- 3 total
Yarn:
Brushtail Yarns Upcycled Possum Merino
Or similar yarn that can achieve gauge
Quantity Needed:
Color 1 (Firefy): 68 metres/ 75 yards
Color 2 (Red): 7 metres/ 7.5 yards
Color 3 (Natural Light): 21 metres/ 22 yards
Note: One full skein of each colour should be enough to make both the mitts and matching Hanmer Hat
