The Hanmer Mitts are inspired by the beautiful New Zealand bush, with it’s mix of native and introduced trees and plants. It’s named after Hanmer Forest which personifed this. CONSTRUCTION: Knit from the bottom up in the round in one piece Sizing: These mitts come in one size, suitable to fit most adults and older children. If you’d like to make them smaller or larger, I recommend changing needle sizes. Bear in mind yarn quantities may change. Size: approx. 18cm/7 in in circumference, and 16.5cm/6.5in long Needles: 4 mm/US Size 6 double-pointed needles (or 80-100 cm circular for magic loop if preferred) Or needle sizes to obtain gauge Notions: Tapestry needle (for finishing) Stitch Markers- 3 total Yarn: Brushtail Yarns Upcycled Possum Merino Or similar yarn that can achieve gauge Quantity Needed: Color 1 (Firefy): 68 metres/ 75 yards Color 2 (Red): 7 metres/ 7.5 yards Color 3 (Natural Light): 21 metres/ 22 yards Note: One full skein of each colour should be enough to make both the mitts and matching Hanmer Hat
